The shop
A Longmont shop, not a Longmont location.
There is exactly one St. Vrain Electric, and it is here. No second store in another state, no regional manager, no floor plan handed down from a corporate office. When you buy a bike from us, the person who sold it to you is the person who will be here when you bring it back.
Every model on the floor is named after somewhere within about twenty miles of the front door — Hygiene, Union, Nelson, Sandstone, Sugar Mill, Button Rock. That is not a marketing device. Those are the roads and the trails we test the bikes on, and if a bike could not handle the place it is named after, we would not carry it.
Everyone here rides what we sell
Three of us commute in on the Hygiene. One rides the Sandstone through the winter on studded tires because he refuses to own a car. Somebody's kids get to school on a Sugar Mill every morning. When we tell you a battery gets 40 miles in the cold, that is not a spec sheet number — it is somebody's February.
A real service department, in the back
We do not sell anything we cannot fix. That is the whole rule, and it is why the lineup is 6 bikes instead of forty. Brakes, wheels, motors, controllers, batteries, firmware — it all gets handled at the bench here, by someone whose name you will learn.
What to expect
Walking in for the first time.
A lot of people have not been in a bike shop since they were fourteen and remember it being intimidating. We have worked hard at not being that.
Nobody follows you around
Walk the floor. Sit on things. Squeeze the brakes. If you want to be left alone for twenty minutes, you will be — say the word and we will go back to building wheels.
Every bike on the floor is rideable
Charged, aired up, and ready. Not one of them is a display model. If it's here, you can take it out the door today.
We'll talk you out of things
If you tell us your ride is two flat miles to the library, we're going to steer you away from the $3,999 full-suspension bike. It happens most weeks.
Bring the whole household
Kids, dogs, partners, the neighbor who's curious. There is a bench, there is coffee, and there is a floor pump anybody can use.
Delivery & setup
Free inside 25 miles. Assembled, tuned, and handed to you ready to ride.
Buy a bike and we will bring it to your door anywhere within 25 miles of the shop at no charge — which covers Longmont, Niwot, Lyons, Boulder, Firestone, Erie, Mead, and Berthoud. It arrives fully built and tuned, not in a box. We fit the saddle to you in your driveway, walk you through the display and the charger, and take the packaging away with us.
Outside the radius, delivery runs a flat $99 — call us and we will tell you honestly whether you are in or out.
- Delivered fully assembled and safety-checked
- Fitted to you at your door, not at the counter
- Charger set up and explained before we leave
- All the cardboard and packing foam leaves with us
Service & warranty
What you get after the sale.
The reason to buy a bike from a shop instead of a website is everything that happens in year two. Here is exactly what that means here.
Free first tune-up at 30 days
Every new bike gets one. Cables stretch and spokes settle in the first few hundred miles — bring it back around the one-month mark and we'll re-tension, re-index, and re-torque everything for free.
Lifetime free flat repair
On any bike bought here, for as long as you own it. Walk it in, we patch or replace the tube, you pay for the tube and nothing else. No appointment.
We service everything we sell
Full department in the back: brake bleeds, wheel builds, motor and controller diagnostics, battery health testing, firmware. If we sold it, we can fix it — we do not send bikes away.
Warranty handled here
Manufacturer warranties get processed by us, not by you on the phone with a call center. We file the claim, we do the labor, and where we can we hand you a loaner while you wait.
We will also service a bike you did not buy here — we just cannot promise parts availability on brands we do not stock, and we will tell you that up front rather than after your bike has been on the rack for a week.
